On a personal note.. I have to let you know that I have come realization that I will never get rid of my sore wrist. I can't & won't stop during what I love. Len helped me out so much this last week & I'm still in a lot of pain. So the hell with it all... I'm enjoying the things I love. Live life to the fullest cause one day I will die & you know the rest...

This is the first time we had this much snow on a Thanksgiving. I think back now we had one other one in my 17 years of living in WA. I love this... Bummed that ours friends couldn't make it to our house for dinner. I would never want anyone to drive in this.

Thankful...

Each day I am truly thankful for the things I have..
Today was one of those day where I didn't sleep much & was up early. Then at 6am I got a nice surprise... I got a text from a friend. We haven't had much time to talk lately. Life is always so busy for one of us. So we got a chance to play catch up between texts & emails.
So, to my friend you know how you are thank you for a nice surprise this morning & have a wonderful week.... Happy Thanksgiving to you. I'm blessed to know you & call you my friend. :D

Other news...
*LJ (lit Jake) is having the plates taken out of his arm next month... Dec 9
*Winter is differently here. It's like 20 degrees outside.
*My hand in better. EVEN with scrapbooking... Still have some pain. Vacuuming & cooking hurt it more then scraping. So my 2011 goal to make lots of $$$ to hirer a cook & a maid!! Hey a girl can dream right?? LOL.....
*Looking forward to cooking Thanksgiving dinner with Len.
*Looking forward to shopping the black Friday sales...

Sudden Valley part 2...

... Here is a photo of us 3 girls having a ball in the snow. YES I'm like a little kid. I've been living in snow for 17 years now and I still get excited when it comes.

Suddenly I'm caught in Sudden Valley.

Last next I spent the night at Amanda's... I had gone to Kim's for a fun night with the girls & I have no fear of hills~ snow~driving. But I got out of gate 9 & started the drive back home to Lynden. It wasn't till I had to go down a hill in 4 wheel drive on ICE. I don't care what kind of big rig you have ice is no game to play with. So I turn my cherry girl around & call Amanda.
Amanda live on the lower part in Sudden Valley. I was greeted with DP tossing snow balls at me then Austin joined in...
I think I surprised them both with the fact I LOVE SNOW BALLS FIGHTS!!!!!!

I got back home safe in sound this morning to find Lynden was bare due to the high winds....

Happy 1st days of snow.

Baby it's cold outside...

Oh how I've missed you. I love watching you fall from the sky. Each flake not the same. When we were standing in line to go into Harry Potter this morning it was mixed snow & rain. I sooo wanted to have it be snowing when we got out but it wasn't. :(

We went to breakfast & still no snow.... BUT when I got about 7 miles from Lynden... SNOW!!!!!

Its' funny...I remember last year at this time snowing on a friday "Deja" in my life again.... The week before Thanksgiving also.

I will post pictures when i get home... Yep, I have my camera with me. What scrapbook doesn't carry one with them all the time. ;)

On a sad note today.... Mike Hawks called last night. Bill Self a long time friend passed away. A sad day in the entertainment world.... Bill is someone you might know. Well... not in person but by his work in the TV & film world. Bill was a actor & producer. He did the pilots for MASH & Twilight Zone. He was in Red River... one of Len's favorite movies. Bill was also a Valentino collector. Len worked with Bill too.
Bill we'll miss you....

So for my last Wed post on miles of smiles...

Back in time...

Yesterday I found myself going back in time when I was in Jr high school... Now they call it middle school. I helped Jen out cause she had to work. Yes I work too... but she drive a bus & had a field trip to today. I work just a block from the school. Matt who is in 8th grade had to dress up in the 1900's and bring a dish to share with the class. Jen know about this but Matt failed to tell her that he signed her up for corn chowder. So she got it going this morning before she had to go to work @ 6:15 and then I took it to the school at 9am. I also picked up the crock pot to take it back to Jen's house...

So this is what took me back in time... Walking down the halls of the middle school. Seeing the lockers ~ watching the kids (ages from 12, 13 & 14) laughing & talking to each other. A few of the kids knew me and I heard HEY LEAH!!! I smiled & waved. Then it hit me... WOW I haven't been in a school like this in 36 years.... DANG time has past I don't feel like it's been that long.


Going to the kids school is somethings I have always done in the past. BUT not the middle school.... I drop off Jake all the time at BVS go in say Hi to everyone. His teacher knows me now & we have fun talking~laughing all the time.



It's Wed... I think I will share more of "my miles of smiles" things....

1) Jake.... you make me happy~laugh~smile.... did you have any idea how you effect everyone around you!?!?

2)The wind... whistling though the air. Sooo cool!!

3)SNOW... It's coming & the feeling of winter in the air. Brrrr & YAY!!!

4) Starbucks... Ahhhh... You warm my heart!!


Well time to get some work done...

I know my friends... the kids drive you nuts... work is crazy... even our better half might be unbearable. BUT remember you are loved... blessed... with all the "crazy-ness" life is good.

BIG step forward... one small step back.

Forward... I scraped twice this week. YAY!! Picture me doing my happy dance...
(go leah ~ go leah) LOL....

Now step back...
I might have over did it. I'm not sure if it was the scraping or the fact I lifted a few (heavy) things to much with my hand. I woke up this morning with a sore wrist. NOW... this discomfort is nothing like the last 4 months of my life. Trust me when I say that.
But if you don't test how far you can go how will you know...
So I will have to see what my limits are .

Len told me the other night I ALWAYS push harder for what I can't have. Yeah... that's me. But I hate feeling undefeated in things. I know when to fight for somethings and when not to. I will fight for this... I felt better this week, working - a little-cleaning - seeing my friends and spending time with Kim as I scraped.

So, today we have football & cooking up a few new recipes to try. Going back to my "new recipe a week" thing. I miss that. Again testing my limits. Cooking has been hard on my wrist too...
Grrrr....
BUT I will do it anyways.
YEP.. I just stomped my foot on the floor. tee hee hee.... ;)

Some Ups... Some Downs...

I went to my first crop in over a month yesterday... I have to say I did well. Let me tell you why...
Sharing time with my girl friends...Laughing- Jokes-Stories with Kim & Trish was the best medicine in the world. I had no pain, I didn't take any pills also. Now I did need some at bed time but I knew I would. I didn't get much done but I really knew I wouldn't. I went just to be with my friends. I will work back into this... I have to... I LOVE it so much. I had more fun helping them & sharing ideas. I hope to go back to this at least once a week.
OH... Not much pain today thank goodness I was afraid I was going to be in a lot more. :)

Today is game day... I love Sundays for that. Giants play the Seahawks!!!

Good news-Bad news front...
Our Bellingham Raiders lost to our Lynden Lions last night.
Living in Lynden I like going to the high school games and seeing our Lions play.
Lynden won!! That's the good news.

Why the bad news...
This last year I have been cheering on the Bellingham Raiders. I have friends who their kids play sports for that school. The two teams met up last night for a rematch on the road to state. One team had to lose.Raiders sorry you lost, you played well this year!! BUT see you next year....

Well happy Sunday everyone... Sun is shining & it going to be a good day!!!

Drum roll please....

.....Tendentious!!! I have to say it is very painful. My doc told me that it is more painful then arthritis. So, I still need to slow it down so the swelling can come down.

Moderation is the word of the day!! I laugh at that. I really don't know if I know how to do that. Even one of my friends said the same thing. Quote... " hahaha I can't even see that" My answer via text was "I know me either" hahaha.
Yes, I was texting another thing the doc wants me to cut down on. LOL.... I have cut back a lot in the last 2 months. But to go cold turkey... I had to do that with facebook. It's like coffee I would give up chocolate before my coffee. I gave up Facebook but my texting... Nope can't do it. I'll just deal with it.

So there you have it folks... Something so simple as a hand hurting comes down to "slow it down"
My life as leelee... a girl how LOVES what she does for her friends & family. So, the question I was asked today... Will you?? Slow down... put yourself first... and ask for help when you need it.
Who knows... I just know this. I will ALWAYS come running when a friend or family member needs me. I will ALWAYS scrapbook for someone I love. I will never regret the past choices I've made that lead me to this. BLESSED that it's something so easy as tendentious not cancer.
