Thankful...

for all the men and woman who each day fight for are freedom.
Thinking of all the soldiers that have given their life to protect us each day.

Happy Memorial Day folks... As you are with your friends & family today take time to say a silent thank you for our fallen soldiers that have given their life to keep us free.

Mile of Smiles... words.
  • laughter
  • smiles
  • food
  • love
  • helpfulness
  • movies
  • freedom
Out of all these words love is my fav... I'm able each day to give my love to all the people in my life. To show and share it.
Have an amazing day. We have enjoyed our holiday weekend.

David Cook - The Last Goodbye

Shame on me... really shame on me.
I knew he had an album coming out soon but I didn't know one song already been released. "The Last Goodbye" is great. Classic David Cook. Yes, I have already pre-bought the album it comes out June 28

The week has been a litte strange to say the least.
Bit n Pieces...
~I can't seem to get enough sleep folks weird.. I could easily go back to bed or the couch right now. I think it's all this dang rain.
~L J is now on an inhaler. On Monday was diagnosis with asthma. This hit me for a loop. He had been complaining his chest of hurting but we thought it was a chest cold. Been coughing and running nose due to it's allergy season and everything is blooming. But Monday was telling me he felt he was having a heart attack. His chest was pounding so hard and fast. We got him into the doctor and a bit later he was fine. Crazy... this kid plays hard and never once said much about feeling this way till like 10 days ago. I guess when you can't breath you say something?? Puzzling to say the least.
~Work has slowed up.
~Yard is whipping into shape. Need some dirt and mulch tho.
~Painting the half bath and Kitchen.
~Designing a few new mini books. This always makes me happy.
~Too many movies out. Soooo if it's raining this holiday weekend I will be at the mall!
LJ and me off to see Pirates, Thor and one other I think. But no Hangover for him... now me YES!!!!
~Len has been writing and I think two more chapters will be done soon. That's always good in my book.

Well guys I wish you all a great Thursday and whatever comes your way make the most of it.

And this isn't our last goodbye... but
peace out <3

I have to share this with you all....
Today as I watched Jake and we did our morning thing before school. Like always....
breakfast... xbox...me ipod... yeah FB(facebook)... Jake & me playing "anger bird's" so on and so on I think you get the idea.

Jake will ask some of the weirdest & craziest questions or random things. One thing I love about this kid. But today like last week he has been doing the MSP they changed the name to that. (was the WASL) Two area's he doesn't think hes good at is the writing and spelling. So last week like today he starts in with "my tummy hurts or I don't feel good" can I stay with you?? Not knowing he was testing again.

I do the auntie thing..

Where does it hurt?
are you going to get sick?
are you sure it's not that your tummy is over full... he wakes up staving each morning.
After he answer all my question he looks at me and says "nerves".

Why?? MSP... What's today's subject?? Writing... I suck at it.
So here I am thinking this kid tells a story well. But then it hit me, telling a story and putting it on paper can be different. I know this to be very true... you can draw a big blank.

After talking to him telling it's OK to feel this way I remember back to other kids in my life on how they feel going into a test or a simple thing like a class room for the first time in a new school. you know... that pit in your tummy feeling. If you're 10...16...19 or even 30. Going in to something "new" we all get that pit in the tummy.

Each day we face what we concede is... the pit feeling. I still feel like that at times. On the weirdest things too.

Today as we go thur our daily grain remember this... nerves happen all reason. Be kind. Some people don't always share their nerves they hold it all inside for many reasons. At times I share way to much... then times I put my "Leah " smile and act on. Cause I just don't know how to share my nerves.
I'm glad Jake opened up to me and I love how are bond grows still after all these years.
Growth is good...

peace out... leelee <3

You gotta love the PNW.....

Happy Monday

and

National Butterscotch Brownie Day!!

Over the week I had so many thing come by me that made me laugh.. giggle... cry... but mostly smile. Yes, it's Monday and here are the things that bring a smile to my face and joy to my heart....

This is us(above photo) before the Haggen to Haggen walk. A 5K that is put on each year. I have never done a 5K... on the good old bucket list a year ago...now off. :) In the pouring rain we laughed at seeing a lot of umbrella's... strollers... shorts. True PNW folks. (btw PNW means pacific north west) for you folks who didn't know that. As you can see the below shot is everyone behind us with their umbrella's.... but not us.

This is the one time you DON"T obey the this sign. Sorry this girl forgot to turn the picture... Not the only dorky thing I did this weekend.

I have to share this one story though. I met Tina at the Barkley Haggen's parked my car. Took hers to the Sehome Haggen's. What a great idea right?? WRONG... It would of been brilliant if I had parked at the right Haggen. We were walking from Sehome to the Haggen on Meridian... LOL So as we are walking Nicole asked me where we parked so I told her our great idea... She starts to giggle and told me I parked at the wrong location. I smile & put both hands in the air... YES... I'm a dork! We all got a great laugh. It wasn't a big deal they had bus to take you back or just figured we walk back. Nicole offered to take us back cause that what Shannon and her did. BUT not the end of the story... we get finish and as we are going to all the stands of free things (drinks~bars ~fresh fruit and things) I asked Nicole were they are parked... WAIT where are my keys. OH NO... I left them in Shannon's car at the other Haggen's... So we all bused it back to our cars then Tina took me to mine... I love my girl friends. There are days I just don't feel alone as a dork. Truly I'm blessed..

I see the finish line!!!!

The after shot all wet and happy!

Tina & I in the bus waiting to go back to the Sehome Haggens. My camera got all fogged up from the rain(over heated from the 5k maybe??)...haha
The Bellingahm Slam right before the game to start. I know I can live a shelter life. I knew we have a football team "Bellingham Bulldogs" and the Bellingahm Bells(baseball). Last year I went to see we our Bellingham Betties (roller derby) gals play. But I had no idea that we had a basketball team. So now I will add them to my list of fun things to do in Bellingahm... as well to my bucket list. I still haven't seen the Bells & Bulldogs play. This year I will!

I just love this shot of Jake. On Friday we went to see him do the half time show at the Slam game. So that's how I found out about that team. Thank goodness for kids. They keep your mind going and at the same time they can drive you crazy! But if I have to chose one or the other I still would take both.
Over the weekend HBO did a special on Lady GaGa at Madison Sq Garden. The past year I got to see her in concert 2 times. I have to say the 2nd one was my favorite but I liked my seats better at the 1st one. This shot was awesome! It's not every day you get to see a car with a piano in it! All day on Mother's day they replay the concert... I just loved it. As I went though pictures and memorabilia I sang and danced to some of my favorite songs...

So happy I could die!!!!
On Sat afternoon after the run... still wet to the bone I stopped at a store called "The Market" I don't go too the south side of Whatcom a lot. I remember they have this egg dish at the deli that's sooo yummmy!!! As I walked around I found this wine name "Girly Girl". Now I have never had it but the bottle is sooo ME!
FUN & PINK... So I hope everyone has a great Monday. I will leave you with this.... a wish. "My Wish." A song that I just love. It's me to a tee cause each day I wish everyone to live their life to the fullest. I'm always going to be cheering you on even if I can't see you & talk with you. And if one door closes another will open and if it doesn't... look for the window. You just might see a view that is amazing & clear so that door will open for you.

peace out... leelee <3

Jan 2010 a friend learned to play this on his piano as a thank you to me. See like I told you I saw GaGa two times 1st in Dec 2009. This friend went with me. One day he asked what he owed me... I told him to put the money towards his new piano I knew he was getting. As a kid I fell in love listen to my brother David playing. I remember him teaching me to play "Born Free" on it. How I love to listen to someone playing a piano...

I love this song. No not my all time fav number 2 tho...

Jake,
I really don't know how to thank you enough for this selfless gift. It meant the world to me. More then you could ever know. I sure miss hearing you play while you are gone. But I can still close my eyes and look back to that day and hear you playing. Thank You soooo much my friend. <3

Happy Mother's Day!!!!

Mildred Faber~Lula Way~Leah Corneto. My Mom~My Grandma~Me 1984

I love this song... The very first time I heard it I was working out in our gym and I just got their new cd.
I lost my mom in the summer of 1995 after 8 years of battling Parkinsons. Mildred Mae Way Faber was a young 62 year old. Who in the last few years in her life couldn't speak or write but if you talked with her she said so much with her eyes... her face...

Our family was blessed by this amazing woman. Her soul was deep as her love was for you. I wish I was half the woman she was... She did give me a great foundation though. A base to build on each day I'm alive. Giving and loving to the fullest. I hope I'm making her proud.

My dad was would say "you are just like your mom" huh... I love that cause my mom was a class act.
He meant it a whole other way though... If I did something "not his way". haha

So I hope you enjoy my favorite song ever. Yes, a song from a son to his mom... But when I sing it I change that one word from son to child. Cause my mom was my biggest fan and in my eyes she was perfect...

I love you mommy...
Miss you.
Your #4
Leah Marie...

firewheel

Last Friday I got to see Jake in action at his school. Yes, I get to see him ride his unicycle all the time. BUT that day I saw a whole other side of this kid... Just when I think I know this boy he amazes me again.
The Firewheels did a little play at BVS and Jake had the lead role... Something he failed to say to any of us. Now that part of video isn't on here. This is just the opening of the kids coming in...

ENJOY!!!
leelee<3

**
I have to share with you also that in the video it is not me yelling and woo-hooing at the end. Tanner's mom video this and it is her... I have watch it a few times and each time I think wow Jake is not bad for his first year at this. Then as I was listening to the cheering and things it hit me... I sound like tanner's mom. LOL...
Jake is one of the last kids to come in and I want to think 4 or 5. By the end of the video he is 2nd to the last. He has on bright blue converse and wearing a tie. hahaha

9 years and 122 days later.....

Yesterday I started to write an update on my blog...but the day got away from me. So much going on in my world and the world we live in.
Monday a day I like to call "mile of smiles" reflecting on things that bring joy and a smile to my face.
Sharing my world with you...
Toady I want to share the past and present with you... reflecting on want I think we have in this beautiful place I call home... our world.

I posted some pictures from the 9/11. Images I can still see with my eyes closed. The images we all saw on T.V. things I will never forget.

I'm a trusting soul... I put faith and trust in all I do. It's like my right and left hand. They go together like pb & j...
So blessed that in this world we live in that we have amazing people who give their lives each day to make me... I mean "US" feel safe... US the you and me that make it possible the live in the United States.

May 2, 2011 images that I found moving to me and I have this new memory in my mind.

The Pentagon....

At ground Zero....

Wow... time can fly by you and then you can clearly remember it like yesterday.

I want to wish every a safe and beautiful day....

Live in this world that's around us. If you are here on US soil or somewhere else.

Be safe...

Peace out

Love Always,

Leah...
